The Audio Engineering Society, now in its fifth decade, is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. Its membership of leading engineers, scientists and other authorities has increased dramatically throughout the world, greatly boosting the society's stature and that of its members in a truly symbiotic relationship.
The AES serves its members, the industry and the public by stimulating and facilitating advances in the constantly changing field of audio. It encourages and disseminates new developments through annual technical meetings and exhibitions of professional equipment, and through the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, the professional archival publication in the audio industry.
The AES (India Section) serves its members by stimulating and facilitating advances in the constantly changing field of audio. It encourages and disseminates new developments through frequent technical seminars from reputed professionals from India and abroad. It also organizes field visits to Audio facilities within India for its members.
Some of the highlights of last year's activities include the seminars held by Roger Quested of Quested monitors and Roger D'Arcy of Recording Architecture (U.K.) along with trips to FTII, Pune and Ramoji Studios, Hyderabad. In the course of seminars covered, we have touched upon topics like, Noise Pollution, Ear testing, DVD authoring, Temple Acoustics, live sync sound for film, digital mixing consoles and operations for film mixes, optical disk media, comparing digital audio artifacts, etc.
