Ustad Usman Khan, Pune

Ustad Usman Khan is the grandson of "Sitar Ratna", Ustad Rehmat Khan of Dharwad (one of the navratnas - nine jewels - in the court of the Maharaja of Mysore).

Ustad Usman Khan was initiated into and schooled in the family's tradition of music, by his father, Ustad Karim Khan, Head of the Faculty of Music at Karnataka University, Dharwad. Usman Khan's performances have featured in most of the important music festivals in India, Europe, Malaysia, Australia.

Based in Pune, Ustad Usman Khan also devotes time to passing on his unique heritage to disciples from all over the world in the true tradition of a 'gurukul'.
