Shivaramakrishna - Sitar
Ganesh - Tabla

Straight to your heart
Nadaka - guitar and vocal
Ganesh - violin
Vikku Vinayakram (Shakti) - ghatam
Selvaganesh - kanjira

With his modified guitar Nadaka comes very close to the sound of a veena while conserving the technique of the guitar. But the quality of this album is not limited to the discovery of this new instrument. The music by Nadaka and Ganesh (violin) plays joyfully on contrasts and subtleties. Moments of calm are followed by complex rhythmic patterns skillfully played by the two percussionists Vikku (ghatam) and Selvaganesh (kanjira). It's all 100% acoustic. You feel the strings rubbing and the skins vibrating! A very beautiful album.

Celebration
Nadaka - acoustic guitar, electric guitar, 12 string guitar, charango, bass guitar, fretless bass, tampura and vocal
Ganesh - violin
Shivamani - drums and percussions

Nadaka's "Celebration", draws upon a large spectrum of instruments and musical traditions. This is most obvious in the opening track, "Celebration", where the music builds from tambourine, through driving acoustic guitar to the runs and plunges of Ganesh's unique violin, seamlessly meshing in electric guitar and diverse styles of percussion on the way.

Nothing less than the attempt to move through sound to the source of sound itself. The refusal to be superficially tuneful, the relative sparseness of orchestration, the lingering on the texture and resonances of individual notes and instruments. Above all, the use of silence, space, and the exploration of that borderland where sound and silence meet.

Each is a meditation, not background music to meditate to, but extended meditations in which the listener participates in an exploration: you feel you are on the cusp of creation, present at the moment when a particular sound first emerges from the void.
