Tapas Relia,Mumbai

Tapas Relia is a Music Composer / Music Producer based in Mumbai and has been working in the Ad and Film industry since a decade. His ad career began with the popular jingle “Kya Aap Close-up Karte Hain” which featured in the Top-Ten Commercials of India and another version also featured in the write up “50 ads where music made the difference”.

This led to a downpour of work and was followed up by the Closeup series, Amaron Batteries, Lays Chips, IPL Mumbai Indians Anthem, Hero Honda (2010 campaign), Centre Fresh, Classmate Gel Pens, Set Wet Gel. KBC season 3 Promos, Big Boss promos, Master Chef promos and the hugely popular Mahabharat (2013 Star Plus) promos to name a few. The Dominos ad featuring Paresh Rawal dancing around singing Tananananari, pizza aye free… is a part of his ensemble too.

Hanuman: His first major break in feature films came in the form of Hanuman, India’s first animation feature film. Practically the first time that spiritual music turned uber cool and a song on Hanumanji played on MTV. Akdam Bakdam in the baby voice was a super hit, so was Mahabali Maharudra sung by Vijay Prakash, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Kailash Kher, Palash Sen, Sneha Panth, Madhushree and Sapna Mukherjee.

Return Of Hanuman: Hanuman was then followed by Return Of Hanuman, directed by Anurag Kashyap, for which he scored the songs and the background music, which in turn led Nagesh Kukunoor to discover him and offered him his 2011 feature Mod.

Ferrari ki Sawaari: Movies became the new high for Tapas and his next release was in the form of the background score for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawaari directed by Rajesh Mapuskar.

In his relatively new Bollywood career, he has been extremely fortunate to have worked on good cinema with the likes of Nagesh Kukunoor, Anurag Kashyap, Priyadarshan, Vipul Shah, Rajesh Mapuskar and more.

Lakshmi (2014): His latest baby is the soon to release Lakshmi by Nagesh Kukunoor. Tapas has worked on both the songs as well as the background of this sensitive and powerful film.
