Born in Nagpur, Meenal was initiated into Hindustani Classical Music at young age of 10. when she started learning Hindustani Classical music from Shri Appasaheb Indurkar, a respected name Hindustani Classical. Meenal took rigorous lessons on various styles of Hindustani Classical under Appasaheb for more than 15 yrs.

Later, after leaving Nagpur, Meenal received valuable guidance from Shri Vasantrao Rajurkar, Hyderabad and Smt. Shobha Abhyankar, Pune. Currently, Meenal is in Mumbai, learning under Smt Asha Khadilkar, a well-known vocalist in Hindustani classical and semi-classical Music.

Meenal has done her Sangeet Alankar and has many other achievements to her credit. She has been awarded the prestigious “Sur-Ratna” title by Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Raipur. She has also been honored by the title “Sur-Mani” by the “Sur Singar Samsad” of Mumbai. Meenal is a “B-High” grade Classical Vocalist at Mumbai Akashvani.

She stood First at the national level in the prestigious “All India Radio Competition” for Classical Vocal. She was awarded the “Dr. Amir Kasam & Hasan Ali Lakhani” scholarship, organized by Ganavardhan, Pune. She also received many other awards including “Kal Ki Khoj” by Nehru Center, Mumbai, “Youva Mahotsav” conducted by South Central Zone Cultural Center”, Ujjain and National level inter-university Youth Festivals.

Meenal has performed in many prestigious concerts at Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolhapur, Ujjain, Raipur, etc.

Meenal, an M.Tech (Civil) from Visvesveraya Regional Engineering College, Nagpur, has devoted all of her energies towards Music.
