Smt. Shampa Parkashi is an accomplished vocalist of Hindustani Classical Music and a promising performer.

Born in Kolkata and brought up in Lucknow, Shampa imbibed Sur and Taal much before she learnt to read and write! She began her academics in the prestigious Bhatkhande University of Lucknow, and completed Masters in music with honours.

Having secured a scholarship at the University, Shampa had the privilege of training under the venerable guidance of Late Pandit Govind Narayan Natu of Gwalior Gharana. For the past 20 years, she is under the able tutelage of Pandit Askaran Sharma, a renowned vocalist and a proponent of Pushti Margi Sangeet.

In 1989, Shampa was unanimously hailed as "Surmani" by Sur Singar Samsad. She also has performed at concerts such as Swami Haridas Sammelan, Swar Sadhana, Kala Bharati, Mysore Association, etc.

Besides her expertise in Khayal singing, Shampa also excels in semi-classical music like Thumri, Tappa, Rasiya, etc. She is an A grade artiste of AIR and has also been a teacher at Bharti Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai.
