Endowed with a deep, sonorous voice and an enchanting style having solid traditional base, Pt. T. D. Janorikar is a well known exponent of the rare style of the Bhendi Bazar Gharana.

His elaborate alaps are marked with melodious smooth meends; forceful gamaks, his sargams have a swinging rhythm and his fast variegated taans weave attractive swar patterns. No wonder, a dignified and beautiful image of the raga emerges through his graceful and mature recital.

Pt. Janorikar started his training in music at an early age under Pt. Vinayakrao Patwardhan of Gwalior Gharana. 12 years of rigorous training and riyaz had groomed him into an accomplished musician. However, he was immensely impressed by the distinctive style of Bhendi Bazar Gharana and hence became a "shagird" of Ustad Aman Ali Khan. After Ustadji's demise, he continued his training with Smt. Anjanibai Malpekar and enriched his repertoire futher.

Pt. Janorikar is an A grade artiste of AIR and Doordarshan. Besides being a successful performer, he is also a well known teacher.
