Rasbhai, as he is often affectionately called, symbolises a rare but pleasant fusion of art and intellect. The professor and Head of the Physics Department at Bhavan's College, Ahmedabad, he effortlessly became the founder and hon. secretary of the famous "Shruti" group of Ahmedabad. He has received the "Triveni" award for his outstanding contribution in the field of music.

With his talented wife and co-singer, Vibha, Rasbhai has produced several albums in Gujarati music. Vibhaben has been one of the most popular artists of All India Radio and TV in Gujarat. Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Govt. of India, by profession, she has enthralled thousands of music lovers in Gujarat. In 1979, she also received (alongwith Raasbhai) the Gujarat State's best playback singer award for the film "Kaashino Dikro".
