 Sahil Jagtiani,Bangalore

Born in Mumbai, Sahil Jagtiani, a singer, songwriter and guitarist, has been involved in music from his teenage years. Ha has played in two progressive and multi-cultural soft rock bands from Hong Kong and London during his high school and college days. His whole outlook to music changed when he met H. H. Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankarji, becoming more inclined towards satsangs and bhajan music. It was the earlier influence of western music that gave him the desire to produce bhajans and made him present the same in a more contemporary manner. Sahil graduated from King's college, London with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management as well completing his Masters of Science Degree in International Management from Birkbeck College in London. After playing in many satsangs (devotional concerts) for the Art of Living all over India, Sahil released his ten song debut album 'Avataran' from Times Music on 14th December 2002. The album aims at promoting bhajans in a more universal manner. It is hoped that those who would not necessarily be inclined to listen to or buy "bhajan or satsang music" might find his music more to their liking, especially the youth. There is a fusion of Indian and Western influences and elements in his music that gives it a ‘world music’ appeal. Sahil has released 10 albums to date for which he has been the singer, guitarist, composer, music director, keyboardist, sound engineer and lead singer. He has played shows all over India and in aid of charities such as “Cancer Kids” and in festivals such as “The Kala Ghodha Festival” in Mumbai. He has even played in an Indian Embassy supported event in the “Mir” Hall in Moscow, Russia and has performed the theme song “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations 2006 at Jakur Airfield in Bangalore. He resides in Bangalore with his wife Smriti and they devote their time in teaching the Art of Living Courses and taking satsangs all over the world.
