Venudhar Singh has been playing and performing music since 1977. He started off as an accompanying artiste (B grade) with AIR and on TV. He has accompanied Mallika Pukhraj, Dilraj Kaur, Indrani Mukherji, Manhar Udhas and Anup Jalota, playing 12-string and bass guitars. He has also played Drums, Mandolin and Piano on many recordings.

From 1979 to 1982, Venudhar played bass and sang with Sparks, a Lucknow beat group, doing mainly old Hindi film numbers. In 1984 he directed the music for a telefilm, Swyamvar, and was the anchor for DD's Youth Mag.

He recorded his own songs in 1986-87, composing and performing the music himself. Since then, he has composed and recorded the music for UGC documentaries at AVRC, Indore.

He recorded his first fully digital score in 1996, and has been keenly involved in digital recordings of his own music. A master of many instruments, Venudhar Singh sings and plays the piano, bass, guitar, synthesizer and drums with equal ease.
