 Preety Bhalla,Mumbai
"It’s a misconception that pop music is forgettable – I am sure there’s melody in pop too," says Preety. And this is exactly what she wants to prove with her solo Indipop debut. Her previous foray in Indipop has been with the album Jalwa II in which Preety sung the track "Dumadum mast kalandar". Preety is confident that "Saangu Nakaa" will give her the correct platform to establish herself as a versatile singer.
Preety has been passionate about music since her childhood. Both her parents are good singers and she imbibed their talent. She’s taken training in ghazals from her guruji Asif Khan, followed by classical training from Shyama Joshi. Besides this, Preety is currently training with the renowned Bhavdeep Jaipurwale.
She gives a lot of credit to her classical training and says that dedication towards one’s work and regular riyaaz are the winning elements in any singer’s career.
Musicurry Records has recently released Preety Bhalla’s debut Indipop album "MERA YE MAN" – the album has eight songs and each tune has a folk flavor… the album is a cultural integration of sorts. The track ‘Saangu nakaa’ has a Maharashtrian tune, ‘Sahiba’ has a Goan touch, ‘Ishq da rogi’ has the Punjabi influence, while ‘Mera mann’ is a soft ballad. The music is by Jaydip and Sanjay Jaipurwale.
Obviously the next step after her Indipop album is playback singing.
