Music and creativity come naturally to Gaurav. His aesthetic inclinations were nurtured from a tender, impressionable age within a family of music enthusiasts. Early instincts evolved into an enduring passion, cultivated with care and mellowed with maturity.

Gaurav is a “Sangeet Visharad” in vocal Indian classical music, which epitomizes his proficiency and his dedication to his pure art form. Gaurav’s versatility as a complete artiste is evident when he plays with equal dexterity and grace on the Santoor.

Gaurav’s expertise encompasses both sides of the microphone and he is presently among the finest of sound-engineers. He has recorded and mixed many musical scores for commercial and parallel cinema, film songs, advertisements and musical albums.

He has also been awarded for his Sound Design in commercials by the Indian Academy of Advertising Film Art and has worked with many of the stalwarts such as Shyam Benegal, Vanraj Bhatia, Louis Banks, Zakir Hussain, Sultan Khan, Kavita Krishnamurti, Anup Jalota, Shiva Mani, Rajkumar Santoshi, etc.

Endowed with a discerning observation and a vivacious imagination, Gaurav has the benfit of being a musician with the training of sound and acoustics engineering. Thus making him one of those few who can make other performers comfortable in the recording studio and hence, perform their best.

You will recollect his voice in the famous commercial on "anti-smoking" (Hindi version) on Zee TV - "Cigarette in my hand..."

Gaurav has two ghazal albums under his belt from HMV. Today, he also sings for various TV serials and ad commercials.
