Born in a musical family, Kedar Bodas is the son of Shri Narayan Bodas, a well known singer and teacher of the Gwalior and Agra Gharanas. He had his earliest training from his grandfather Pt. Lakshmanrao Bodas who was a direct disciple of Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar of Gwalior Gharana.

As a child, he was deeply interested in tabla-playing and learnt tabla from Pt. Pandurang Salunke (disciple of Ustad Amir Hussain Khan) and Pt. Shreedhar PAdhye. However, he was instinctively attracted towards vocal music and the freedom of expression he felt it gave him.

Kedar cam under the influence of Pt. Ram Marathe and in an attempt to broaden his musical horizons, nhe became a formal student of Dr. Ashok Ranade. Dr. Ranade introduced him to different styles of rendition based on his profound musicological vision. Kedar's style thus has a complex and well wrought blend of different musical strands.

It is interesting to note that Kedar is also a serious student of languages. He has done a 4 year post advanced course in Russian at Mumbai. This also exposed him to western classical and Russian folk music, which he has performed too!

Kedar is a regular performer at concerts at Mumbai and Pune. And is well received by his audiences.
