 Nayan Pancholi,Ahmedabad
Born in 1964, this young vocalist from Ahmedabad has achieved recognition in music circles.
His musical journey includes clearing exams such as Praveshika - Purna from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai in Tabla playing ; Madhyama - from Akhil Bharatiya Sangeet Vidyalaya in Vocal Music.
Inspired by his father "Amu Bhagat" (Laxmikant Pancholi), who has been a well known Bhajan singer, Nayan decided to pursue a career in music since childhood.
Nayan has learnt classical music from Shri Krishnakant Parikh (a disciple of Pt. Jasraj), Sugam Sangeet from Shri Rasbihari Desai,voice culture from violinist Prof. Sudhir Khandekar, tabla from Shri Divyang Vakil (student of Ustad Allarakha), bhajans and ghazals from Shri Anup Jalota.
He has won many awards over the last twenty years of his musical career. First prize "Ellisbridge Jaycees" in 1980, ABVP in 1984, Begum Akhtar award in 1987 as best ghazal singer, etc. Nayan has travelled extensively to East Africa, UK, USA, France, Middle East for solo performances.
Various albums of his have been released by T-Rax Co., T-Series, with Anup Jalota also performing with him. Nayan also has accompanied well known singers on the harmonium and the tabla at various concerts.
