Rekha was interested in music right from her childhood and showed a great deal of inclination towards music. She was also gifted with a melodious voice. Her parents recognised this talent and encouraged her to develop it.

She took training in classical music from Shri Rasiklal Andharia of Bhavnagar (Gujarat). Later, she got a degree in music (Sangeet Visharad) from Gandharva Sangeet Vidyalaya at Mumbai.

In the beginning of her musical career, she was selected by the great Gujarati music composer - Shri Avinash Vyas - for his programme "Alakh Ne Otle". Here she made a big impact on the audience with the song "Ram Tame Sitajini Tole Na Avo". It was also telecast by Doordarshan then and was widely acclaimed.

Slowly but steadily, Rekha's name has spread in music circles. Today, she is a regular broadcaster from AIR - Mumbai, Rajkot, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, etc. Doordarshan (Mumbai and Ahmedabad) regularly broadcast her programmes.

Rekha Trivedi has rendered songs for top music directors like Avinash Vyas, Ninu Mazumdar, Dilip Dholakia (our jury member), Dakshesh Dhruv, Rajat Dholakia (who has done all the Pepsi jingles in India), Navin Shah, Kshemu Divetia (another jury member), Ashit Desai, Uday Mazumdar, etc. She has given music programmes in various parts of India, besides Belgium, Singapore, etc.

Rekha's voice has been recorded for several projects by T-Series, Venus, Raj Audio, Trishla, etc. She has done the title songs for serials such as "Antakadi", "Ek Taras Ne Kanthe". She has also sung in several Hindi and Rajasthani albums besides her Gujarati songs. And is versatile with these languages also.
