Born in a music loving family of Indore, Sandhya always had a right atmosphere at home and received encouragement to make me a vocalist.

She received initial training from Dr. Shashikant Tambe of Indore. and then has been under the tutelage of veteran stalwarts of Agra Gharana like Pt. Babanrao Haldankar and Pt. V.R. Athavale. Sandhya has also completed the "Proficiency Course" at the Kala Academy, Goa.

A distinction in M.A. from SNDT University, Mumbai, Sandhya has registered for Sangeet Pravin. The topic for her degree being "Comparitive study of Light Classical forms between Hindustani and Carnatic styles".

She has perfomed at music circles like NCPA, Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, Sajan Milap, IMG St. Xaviers, etc. Besides these she has performed in Gujarat, M.P., Goa, Delhi, and other cities in Maharashtra.
