It is \u00a0issued from Kent\u2019s forthcoming five-song EP, \u2018<strong>Love in F#<\/strong>\u2019, titled similar to French musician Marc Cerrone\u2019s hit from 1976, &#8220;Love in C Minor&#8221;. The intent behind naming the song \u201c<em>Magaresa<\/em>\u201d is, in reality, the reversal of names of the first four notes of the Indian scales; \u201ca happy accident\u201d is how it has been described. \u201cMagaresa (Runaway)\u201d is available for streaming across popular digital platforms including, but not limited to, Spotify and YouTube.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3905\" style=\"width: 176px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3905\" class=\"wp-image-3905\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sudeepaudio.com\/saundcheck\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Douglas-Carr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"250\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Douglas Carr<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The mystery behind Kent\u2019s sound \u2013 although his distinctive vocals remain intact \u2013 is his collaboration with record producer <strong>Douglas Carr<\/strong>, born in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Carr has musically driven the sounds of many Swedish artists, such as Ace of Base, Meja, Leila K, and Dr. Alban to global recognition, and has also interacted with foreign performers such as Irish band The Corrs, American singer Nick Carter, and Jamaican reggae band Inner Circle. Carr has also found a vehicle to share his vast musical experience by becoming a member of the award committee of Polar Music Prize \u2013 the Swedish international award founded in 1989 by Stig Anderson, best known as the manager of Swedish band ABBA \u2013 as well as being a member of the board for STIM (Swedish International Music Composers Bureau) and SKAP (Swedish Composers Of Popular Music).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3429\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3429\" class=\"wp-image-3429 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sudeepaudio.com\/saundcheck\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Narendra-Kusnur-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sudeepaudio.com\/saundcheck\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Narendra-Kusnur-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.sudeepaudio.com\/saundcheck\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Narendra-Kusnur-80x80.jpg 80w, https:\/\/www.sudeepaudio.com\/saundcheck\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Narendra-Kusnur-320x320.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3429\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Narendra Kusnur<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Kent <strong>won the \u2018Best Live Performer\u2019 award<\/strong> at the Hungama-organized <em>Indian Independent Music Awards<\/em>, held on March 25, 2022, whereas his 2019 Hindi song, \u201c<em>Hindustan Meri Jaan<\/em>\u201d which, says Kent, is \u201ca song to the country of my birth \u2013 India \u2013 that still defines who I am every day\u201d, is ranked among the \u2018<strong>Top 10\u2019 patriotic Indian songs<\/strong> of all time by veteran music journalist and <em>Sudeep Audio<\/em> supporter, <strong>Narendra Kusnur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For those not aware of the 3 album, 13-single veteran Druv Kent, was born and raised in Kolkata, went to boarding school in Dehradun, and attended college in the U.S. As a child, Kent trained in Hindustani vocals, drums, and tabla; however, Kent was always \u2019ears ahead in his listening of Western sounds. \u201cMy heart was in vocals and percussion,\u201d recalls Kent, \u201cbut I played guitar and keyboards more as compositional tools rather than for performing purposes\u201d. In 2012, Druv sang for a Bollywood song with Agnee, the Pune-based Hindi rock band, for \u201cPaa Paraa Paa\u201d from the soundtrack of \u2018Aalaap\u2019. Apart from music, he had an interest in strategic and financial consulting, culminating in Kent becoming an investment banker in Singapore, a city where he currently resides.<\/p>\n<p>While Druv Kent had found a strong niche for his pop sounds in the past, \u201cMagaresa (Runaway)\u201d firmly establishes that he is not a musician willing to rest on his laurels, but is hardy at taking risks too as, following multiple listens, the slow burner certainly picks pace!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Singer Druv Kent\u2019s \u201cRunaway\u201d finds a musical home.
