Difference between Free NI Kontakt Player and Full Kontakt version
Some libraries of Best Service (Germany) and other brands work with Native Instruments FREE Konkakt Player and some requires the FULL version of Kontakt by Native Instruments.
Kontakt Player is a free, limited version of Native Instruments’ sampler designed to play licensed libraries.
The paid full Kontakt version allows editing instruments, creating custom libraries, and running all third-party libraries without restrictions. Player only runs authorized, usually commercial, instruments.
Key Differences Between Kontakt and Kontakt Player:
- Cost: Kontakt Player is free; Full Kontakt is a paid product (sold in India as part of the NI Komplete bundle series).
- Library Compatibility: Player runs only officially licensed libraries (those with a “Library” tab/serial number). Full Kontakt runs all libraries, including unlicensed, independent, or older ones.
- Editing & Creation: Full Kontakt allows users to edit patches, create custom instruments, and access deep scripting/sampling tools. Kontakt Player has no editing capabilities.
