An offshoot of Delhi's famous pop and rock band Nirvana, ROCKNRAGA was established in December 2001, realizing the crying need for good dance bands in Delhi. ROCKNRAGA, is the brainchild of singer-guitarist-composer Raja Bhattacharya, who way back in 1985 founded NIRVANA, Delhi's legendary rock band.

The idea behind ROCKNRAGA was to give Delhi an honest entertaining band, that played quality dance music without any pretensions or inhibitions.

ROCKNRAGA also boasts of well-known and experienced professionals like drummer Ashwani "Ash" Verma, singer Ruchika Castelino, keyboardist Peter Alphonso and bass guitarist Kamal Isaac musicians who have shone as bright stars in the Delhi sky.

In addition to performing with ROCKNRAGA, all of them are individually accomplished and widely-acclaimed musicians regularly seen in Delhi's live and recording circuits.

ROCKNRAGA plays music spanning over four decades - 1960s through 2001 -ranging from the classic rock of The Beatles, CCR, Eagles, Smokie, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Doors and Queen, to the reggae of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, UB 40, Inner Circle and Culture Club, to the latest Top 40 hits of Ricky Martin, Vengaboys, Gloria Estefan, Britney and Christina, etc.

ROCKNRAGA's Indian music section ranges from the old Hindi film hits to latest ones. ROCKNRAGA also showcases some of India's best-known regional melodies that are great to dance to.
